Europe’s biggest New Year’s Eve stage
On December 31 2017, the historic city of Zakopane in the south of Poland, was home to one of the largest public festivities celebrating New Year’s Eve in Europe. The team at ARAM worked alongside over 70 additional crew members led by the world-renowned production designer Giorgos Stylianou-Matsis and lightning designer Adam Tyszka, to deliver state-of-the-art video technology and lightning setup for the event.
The result ? A spectacular design, fully complementary to the unique positioning of the stage – right at the foot of the Tatry Mountains – anticipating and countering the weather conditions, and providing a completely unique viewing experience to fans on-site and online alike. Over 90,000 visitors enjoyed the show live, with over 7,9 million viewers tuning in to the TVP2 broadcast.
“We’re incredibly proud to have been able to work together with one of the largest Polish broadcasters and many talented designers and directors on Europe’s biggest stage celebrating this special moment of the year” said Rafal Mrzyglocki, CEO at ARAM. “ARAM specializes in designing and delivering interactive multimedia productions for a variety of events, but Sylwester Marzeń was a very unique project to work on. Due to its location, the scope of festivities and many challenging elements that came with it, this stage is one of the most complex productions we’ve ever worked on, and one that will continue to inspire us for a very long time.”

ARAM once again was responsible for set design and technical production of the largest international beauty contest „Miss Supranational 2015” and „Miss Poland 2015”.
Design and technical production of this kind of show since the beginning requires close work with many people, starting from the director, choreographer by technicians, riggers and engineers. An effect that could be seen speaks for itself.
Every event requires an individual approach and a different way of working with clients or agencies. That is why we offer different models of cooperation in the framework of which together with our customers realize such a huge scale events as well as smaller shows.
Miss Polski it’s been on the market for over 25 years. Its first edition was held in 1990. This year Magdalena Bienkowska won the beauty contest.
The event was directed by Simon Losiewicz, Choreography Anna Bubnowska, LD: Jack Van Daniels, 2D / 3D: Peter Szablinski, Photo: Dorothy Tyszka

15th year selecting the World’s Best in Pageantry!
15th year selecting the World’s Best in Pageantry!
GB comment: No question here, Miss Supranational’s production values and entertaining quality is at its finest, delivering an upbeat, interesting and easy-to-follow format; the lights, the stage, the pre-pageant videos, all adding to the great job this pageant has been doing for the past years. They get the Gold Yulia for entertainment and innovation. In 2nd place, the Miss World competition although with some technical glitches, managed to delivered a great quality show with an impressive stage and some welcomed changes in the competition’s format. Miss Universe gets 3rd place, as entertaining and controversial as it has always been, we have seen way better productions in the past from this giant competition.
The set was designed by Jack van Daniels and ARAM is proud to be set design and building company and of course delivered all multimedia and lighting for this show 🙂
OPOLE Festival and some history…
This year’s Opole Festival was the 50 anniversary! It’s an honor to be able to handle the festival my childhood I spent with my father at OPOLE many times.
So yes, Adam Mrzygłocki was the first Lighting Designr who introduced to OPOLE first parcans and the first ClayPacky scanners and also VariLite moving jokes!
Today stage is completely different than 20 years ago, has changed not only the equipment but the whole amphitheater. It is worth mentioning that many engineers and lighting technicians who are working today on TVP and then it worked there – but they were younger …. amout 20 years 🙂 It’s nice that the same people still remember my father.
This year, once again, for the light design was responsible Artur Szyman and set design has been designed by Giorgios Stylianou. This year we traditionally was responsible for all the LED Displays as well as over 1000 LED strips …. The effects you can enjoy the pictures 🙂 Nothing more and nothing less. Tastes are different but the job was done perfectly.
