Overview:
Extreme Masters Katowice 2016 has yet again set a new all-time high in viewership and engagement, it was the biggest eSports event in ESL history.
The finals of the tenth Intel Extreme Masters season were seen by more than 34 million unique viewers – a staggering 32% increase from last year. The three-day main event itself saw 113,000 fans stream into the Spodek arena and IEM Expo, with the finals of each Intel Extreme Masters tournament taking place in front of 10,000 fans in the sold-out stadium.
The ESL relied on the experience of ARAM for the planning, design, and technical production of all 5 stages including the giant main stage and also 11 trade fair booths. ARAM was responsible for the concepts and the complete technical and set designs of all stages including rental of lighting, multimedia, scenic, audio, trussing, rigging as well as custom-made automation systems.
More than 1000 lights including Clay Paky Mythos, Sharpy, Super Sharpy, Vari Lites, and Robe have been used. Light LED screens and curtains have been provided in a total amount of 400 square meters, multimedia includes HDX and HDF series Barco projectors as well as an FSN live switching system.
Stages were designed by Adam Tyszka (light designer) and Michal Mrzyglocki (technical production and creative director from Aram). Technical in-house pre-production and execution on-site have been conducted by the internal Aram team that specializes in e-sports events.
